Retraction rules: directory
This directory sets out the main rules on academic retractions, one rule per row, from standards bodies and publishers. COPE published Version 3 of its retraction guidelines on 4 September 2025 1. ICMJE sets rules for labelling and linking 2, and NISO's RP-45-2024 covers how retraction status is recorded in metadata 3. Publisher rows quote company statements, such as Elsevier's correction, retraction and removal policy 4. Use the filter to see one body at a time.
